Drawing Lessons : Getting Into Shape.

Seeing The Shapes to create your artGetting into shape… Positive and negative… geometric or abstract forms…shapes are a way to create the unseen lines of a foundation for drawing that our analytical mind can “grab” hold of and utilize. Positive shapes are often the image or subject matter …a figure…a tree..etc. that we recognize. Negative shapes can be the space around or in between the positives…and often are more abstract and may be a little harder to understand. This week we are focusing on learning to “see” what lies beneath .
Shapes are a good starting point to understanding structure and the “why” within the subjects. After you ask yourself “What” and “how” then next logical stage is the “Why”…Shapes help you answer this. If you would like to know more about Jamie’s drawing lessons and how to get in on them…let us know.
